This is kinda like a preview of the climax of the story. Not really the 1st chapter or something. It's just the part that I wrote to send to Tokyopop.

Souls of the Night: The Awakening
When they met again
Hikari stood atop the clock tower. The wind was blowing hard, she didn’t worry so much about it but she was being careless. It’s been 11 years since I’ve seen my parents and Ryuuichi. I wonder when it will be till I see them again. The only way she would want to express her sadness was by playing the flute, hoping that they would hear it and remember her. She closed her eyes and played. The melody was the same, sad tune that was played on that day.
Walking towards the school was a figure, a blur from the past. Ryuuichi had been in an argument with his uncle as it would always seem that they would disagree. He was planning to live in the Human world, away from his uncle and his plans.
A sudden melody had caught his attention as he got closer to the clock tower. He looked up to see a figure of a girl, standing on the top of the tower. This song…how is it that I know it, yet I can’t remember anything about it. In his mind, the melody was clear, familiar, but something was blocking it.
The song was finished. Her eyes slowly opened to the view ahead. She was shocked as she saw Ryuuichi. Could it be…Ryuuichi? No…no it can’t be him. I don’t believe it. It can’t be Ryuuichi KamiYuki. She was unstable when she saw him. Although her mind was saying that it couldn’t be him, her heart was already waiting for him. Her heartbeat got faster. She stood up to get down from the tower but missed her step. She fell backwards down the tower. Closing her eyes once more, she awaited for the pain that was to come after. This might be it for me.
The Girl was falling. Ryuuichi couldn’t just let her die. He ran to her and caught her without making a scene. He held her tight even when she was safely on the ground. He was aggravated. Why was she so careless? She could have died! He let her down and then started… “DON’T YOU KNOW THAT IT’S DANGEROUS UP THERE??? WHAT WERE YOU THINKING OF BEING ON THAT TOWER??? YOU COULD HAVE DIED IF I WASN’T HERE!”
Hikari eyes were still closed. She heard the voice, but didn’t want to think of him, in case it wasn’t really Ryuuichi.
“ANSWER ME! LOOK AT ME AND ANSWER ME!” He was shaking her right about now. She couldn’t not open her eyes. His voice, it was controlling her.
Slowly Hikari opened her eyes. His face was closer than expected and it was almost identical to what her memories could recall. Her eyes were now teary.
Ryuuichi was surprised. Silver eyes?! How can that be? He saw that she was about to cry. Was he holding onto her too hard? Was she hurt? He wanted to know.
“I’m sorry. Did I hurt you?” he let go of her. Hikari let her gaze fall. She didn’t want to remember if it turns out that it wasn’t her Ryuuichi. She was holding onto the necklace that Ryuuichi had given to her on that day…If this isn’t Ryuuichi, then I don’t want to hear his voice!
Hikari suddenly stood up and ran away from him. She stumbled at the first few steps but was able to get away from him. She hasn’t said a word to him.
“Wait!” He called out yet she kept on running. The bell rang. I wonder why she was running away. Did I scare her, or was it something else?
Back in class, Hikari was still holding onto the necklace. The ice crystal was cold against her hand. Looking into the sky, she thought… It was snowing 11 years ago. It was Ryuuichi that made it snow. I want to see him now more than ever.
The teacher was in front of the class, announcing to the class that there was a new student. Hikari was looking but wasn’t paying attention…until…
“Please welcome your new classmate, Ryuuichi KamiYuki”
Ryuuichi…KamiYu…ki?
“Please be kind to me.”
And the snow starts falling…
